Purpose

Ensures consumers in rural, insular, and high-cost areas have access to modern communications networks capable of providing voice and broadband service, both fixed and mobile, at rates that are reasonably comparable to those in urban areas.

Amount of Funding

Who Can Apply

Telecommunication carriers providing service in FCC-designated unserved or underserved rural communities are eligible to apply. Use the Connect America Fund Broadband Map to determine eligible areas.
