Juvenile treatment courts work to connect adolescents with mental illness involved in the justice system with treatment and support services after appropriate screening and assessment. Focuses on treatment and rehabilitation; diversion of youth from detention facilities; and involvement of family and schools in the treatment process.

Seeks to identify justice-involved veterans and contact them through outreach, in order to facilitate access to U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) services through Veterans Justice Outreach (VJO) specialists at the earliest possible point. Builds and maintains partnerships between the VA and key elements of the criminal justice system.
