Description
Seeks to identify justice-involved Veterans and contact them through outreach, in order to facilitate access to VA services through Veterans Justice Outreach (VJO) specialists at the earliest possible point. Builds and maintains partnerships between VA and key elements of the criminal justice system.

Veterans Justice Outreach (VJO) specialists provide many treatment-related services, including:
- Assessing veterans' needs to identify appropriate services
- Outreach in local jails and courts to engage justice involved veterans in Veterans Health Administration (VHA) services
- Connecting veterans to necessary treatment
- Case management

The Health Care for Re-Entry Veterans Program (HCRV) conducts outreach for veterans in state and federal prisons.
