Description
Provides culturally appropriate training and technical assistance to tribal communities on substance use disorders (SUDs), suicide prevention, and mental health. Supports tribal infrastructure development, capacity building, program planning, and implementation activities, with the goal of promoting the healthy and safe development of American Indian and Alaska Native children, families, and communities.
What This Program Offers
Tribal Training and Technical Assistance Center can provide:
- Broad training and technical assistance (TTA) for tribes and tribal organizations that includes training events, virtual gatherings, learning communities, and other types of assistance
- Focused TTA for SAMHSA tribal grantees to support implementing grant activities through both in-person and online formats, including site visits, teleconferences, webinars, and other activities
- Intensive TTA for selected communities that guides them through a community engagement process to build locally informed prevention programs
- Assistance in developing a tribal action plan (TAP)
- Resources and webinars on a variety of topics related to suicide and violence prevention, SUDs, and mental health
- Connections to partner organizations working in the areas of suicide prevention, SUDs, and mental health promotion

- Other tribal nations
- Rural and urban organizations that serve Native communities
- SAMHSA tribal grantees
