Description
Provides comprehensive mental health services for American Indian and Alaska Native individuals and families. Offers community and clinical-based treatments and services, including mental health treatment and support for substance use disorder (SUD) and opioid use disorder (OUD).
What This Program Offers
Provides comprehensive, culturally-sensitive, clinical and community-based mental health services, and other resources, including:
- Outpatient mental health counseling
- Dual diagnosis services for individuals with SUD and co-occurring mental health disorder
- Mental health crisis response and triage teams
- Case management services
- Community-based prevention programming
- Community outreach and education activities
- Trauma-informed care web-based trainings
- Integration of behavioral health with primary care
- Directory of federally operated mental health programs available in each IHS service area
- Information and education resources for patients and providers
- Consultation, research, and support services for tribal, governmental, educational, legal, institutional and health agencies
